The WOFS Speed Method..
- Trouble is the toughest variable you will find in handicapping. It is found in every race. Sometimes with only one or two greyhounds, but usually several. Coming into the first turn is where most of the trouble occurs. This is where the early speed/front runners can benefit by being out of harm's way.
- All you need is a program, a pen and about fifteen minutes. For each race, circle the dog with the best time in its last race. Then circle the dog with the highest percentage of wins to races run. Next, circle the dog with the highest quiniela percentage compared to races it's run.
- Greyhound Handicapping. There is no more important factor than early speed. Just open any results chart and you will see the dog that gets to the lead at the 1/8 call (1st turn), finishes 1st or 2nd over 80% of the time! My method of wagering and handicapping is designed all around this fact. It was this finding that opened my eyes to the age old question of can the races be beat.
- The best way to approach greyhound race betting is like you would approach a ladder system. Start from the bottom up and do not try and run before you learnt how to walk. This means that ideally first you start with learning the best strategies for straight wagers, understand all there is to it and master it.

Bets are always made with a STARDOG on top playing strictly multiple trifectas and superfectas. However, once the WOFSDOGS are located you may only play a race when 1 of these 2 dogs meet each of my 10, 9 or 6 criteria for a STARDOGS depending on what caliber of Stardog you have located and are ready to play. Only then is a race worth playing. All other races that do not meet Stardog criteria are passed!

WOFS averages 1 play out of 12 races. A seasoned WOFS player can handicap 4 programs (60 races) in 45 to 60 minutes. As they say, time is money but, WOFS does not sacrifice results for handicapping speed. The fact is that 75% or more of all the races are won by the 1st or 2nd greyhound to reach the 1/8th call.
I have received emails in the past saying that we may have 'hand picked' the 1/8th call results on our website showing only the races that prove this point. So, to put these concerns to rest for everyone and for good, I have pulled ALL the available results on the Internet for 'the very same date'. I selected February 28, 2009 evening when available.
If a track did not run on that date, I selected 'February 28, 2009 afternoon' or the next available date. As you can see in the chart below, the lowest '%' we found was at 64%, 7 tracks ran in the 80% range and 3 tracks ran as high as 93% on this night. This is the way it is on ANY day. Do your own research and you'll find that this is a very consistent fact that has been around as long as greyhounds have run in circle chasing a fuzzy toy.
